Day 39 - Nashville, Tennessee (part 2)

We had a busy but laid-back day - visited 2 plantations (Belle Meade in the area where Al Gore lives] and Carnton) with American Civil War involvement - learnt a lot about US history today! Then it was a choice between the Nashville Symphony or the Grand Ole Opry; as I can go to symphony concerts elsewhere we decided on the Grand Ole Opry, which was a lot of fun! It is actually broadcast live on the radio, so is divided into 4 half-hour segments, with several different artistes/bands in each, so we had a lot of variety, including some excellent square dancing and more bluegrass from Kentucky. Then it was time for dinner at Sunset Grill - great steak and a very lively atmosphere. And so to bed ...
