Just a quick blog today - I drove 400 miles so feeling just a little tired (but also very exhilarated)! Starting with more rainforest and the
Avenue of the Giants, I then took CA-1 south all the way down the Pacific coast. The rain gradually disappeared as I went southwards, and most of the day was lovely. Although it didn't feel humid, there was a lot of moisture in the air, and there were some places where the cloud was still hanging over the ocean and the sand, and was blowing up to and over the road, such that it seemed that the sea and the beach were steaming! Many sweet little towns along the coast, and about a thousand vista points! If I had stopped to take a picture at each one I'd be on this stretch of road another week. But I might come back again next year ...

It's worth coming down this road just for the sudden appearance of the Golden Gate Bridge - couldn't take a picture from the north as there's nowhere to stop, but here's one from the web.
