OK, I'm back on my travels again! An interesting journey to London on Wednesday - did you know that loukoumia was a suspicious substance? No, neither did I! However, I got stopped at airport security in Athens as it wasn't in a duty-free-shop bag; after much discussion, and examination of the receipt, they finally let me take it through, but it took about 10 minutes! Got on the plane, taxied out to the runway - where we sat for a while listening to some very odd whining noises from the flaps. Uh-oh. Back to another gate. Where we sat for another 2 hours while the mechanics tried to fix the plane - unsuccessfully. Uh-oh. Eventually we were bused to yet another gate, where a new plane awaited - this one airworthy! We got to London almost 3 hours late, so the lovely dinner (prawn and aubergine green curry) that Jenny had made was eaten at midnight!
Spent Thursday afternoon lunching and shopping with Rosie and Marie-Christine at Westfield, then met Jenny for a Vietnamese meal at Pho before going to see Sister Act at the London Palladium - an excellent show, and like a revival meeting at the end, with almost the whole audience up on their feet, clapping and waving their arms in the air!
