Off to Okefenokee to see the swamp this morning! This is the largest intact wetland wilderness in North America, and the Swamp Park is full of alligators, and turtles, and otters, and snakes, and all sorts of creepy-crawly things. They also do a great boat tour! Will post pictures tomorrow or the next day.
By 2 pm when I left the park, it was 90 deg F and very steamy - and then it started to rain, so my timing was pretty good! By the time I got to Tallahassee it was sunny again, and a little cooler - all the way down to 87. Staying with Nancy Clark, who says hi to all her AMIA friends and especially the Brits; we had dinner at the Kool Beanz Cafe with Meredith Goodwin, whom I had last seen at AMIA in 1999; we had a lot of catching-up to do.
