I-55 is somewhat dull; Illinois is not quite as flat as Lincolnshire, England where I lived for 20 years (Illinois has some subtle undulations at least in the southern half), but it has pretty lakes and trees. Saw some wild turkeys by a lake just after crossing the Missouri-Illinois border - I guess they have escaped the oven for this year's Thanksgiving! Also saw a number of signs publicising the Prairie Grass Conservation Project.

Now in Chicago's North Side - Edgewater to be precise - staying with Svetlana for a few days' relaxation, and Thanksgiving with her family tomorrow. It's slightly weird to be back as a tourist after living and working here for a year!
----------
Will try to post occasionally while I'm here, if there is news!

Funny sign of the day: [seen on a small trailer being pulled by a Geo Metro] "I go where I'm towed."
